Iraq purchased 120,000 tons of rice (including 60,000 tons of Uruguayan origin rice, 30,000 tons of Paraguayan origin rice, and 30,000 tons of Brazilian origin rice) in a tender that it issued on August 30, 2019, reports Reuters. The tender closed on September 5, 2019, and the offers were valid till September 15, 2019.

Iraq’s Trade Ministry purchased 60,000 tons of Uruguayan origin rice from Hanalco, 30,000 tons of Paraguayan origin rice from ADM, and 30,000 tons of Brazilian origin rice from Teriyaki.

Iraq sought to buy at least 30,000 tons of rice in the tender.
